El rol del defensor público en el sistema federal

El Federal Bar Association, capítulo de la Facultad de Derecho de Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, invita a participar y conocer del importante rol del defensor público en el sistema federal. ¿Qué es lo que hacen en la oficina? ¿Cuál es su importancia como componente del sistema de justicia criminal en la corte federal de Puerto Rico? El evento se llevará a cabo el viernes, 7 de noviembre de 2014 a las 6:00PM en el Anfiteatro 4 de la Facultad.

Participa:
Héctor L. Ramos-Vega, First Assistant at the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico where he has worked for the past ten (10) years.

Background:
Prior to joining the office of the Federal Public Defender, Mr. Ramos-Vega worked for three years as law clerk to the Honorable Justo Arenas, Chief United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Puerto Rico.

Mr. Ramos-Vega obtained his J.D. degree magna cum
laude from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2002. In law school, Mr. Ramos-Vega served as managing associate editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. He also interned for the Michigan Chapter of the Innocence Project.

In 1999, Mr. Ramos-Vega graduated magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus with a B.A. in humanities and a concentration in interdisciplinary studies.
